Since our first trip to WindMark Beach in Port St. Joe, we fell in love with this vacation spot. With the beautiful sunsets and endless beaches, this area offered something not easy to find along the Florida Gulf coast - no crowds. This page includes all our favorite activities and recommendations - we hope it helps you enjoy your time as much as we do!
Rental at "Sunset by the Bay" includes four kayaks (three singles and one double), one paddleboard, life jackets, and paddles. The private, beachside pool is located approximately 900 feet from our front door; the 100+ foot fishing pier is located just steps away from the edge of our property. We've also included chairs, umbrellas, and toys for your time on the beach. Also, enjoy one of our favorite family traditions - a beachside bonfire! Boss Man's Beach Bundles (850-890-1319) will deliver $10 oak wood bundles (refer to website for beach guidelines).
"Sunset by the Bay" is located in the WindMark Beach community, which has miles of bike trails, beach boardwalks, a community fire pit, restaurants, pools, and more! You can walk, ride, or drive to the WindMark Village Center for activities day and night!
Port St. Joe is a short five-minute drive away. This quaint town has all you need for vacation conveniences, family fun, and fishing expeditions.
Cape San Blas, just 30 minutes away from "Sunset by the Bay", is a beautiful excursion. Sneak away to the enjoy the state park and other attractions on this beautiful beach peninsula.

There is so much to do in the area and often just not enough time to enjoy it all. This section offers our family's "must do" list each time we come to the beach (with a few tips and tricks)!
Sunsets: They are absolutely magical! Our favorite spot is right here at our beach house; however, there are other beautiful views if you feel inspired to get in your car - check out the main pier in WindMark Villiage
(located at the end of Goodmorning Street) and the gazebo in
downtown Port St. Joe Park.
Indian Pass Raw Bar: the location in Indian Pass is worth the extra 20-minute drive, as their restaurant in PSJ doesn't have the same feel. Where else can you get your own drinks (on the honor system!)
from a wall-size cooler?
Apalachicola: Recognized as the "Oyster Capital of the World", check out The Station Raw Bar - the oysters are amazing and the vibe at this restaurant is casual and fun. A walk through the town makes the drive worth it and fills out more of the day - the shops are a mix of high-end and causal, appealing to window-shopping moms and curious kids. Oyster City Brewery is a fun local stop, as well as the Old Time Soda Fountain shop.
Cape San Blas Beaches: Whether at the state park or one of the free beach access points along the main road, the Cape San Blas beach offers a great complement to the calm waters of the bay. Weather permitting, we make this a day trip to enjoy the sand, shells, and ocean play.
